This is a pretty snazzy pack! We recently bought everyone in the family their own camelbak. My husband and I were tired of carrying all the water bottles and gear for the entire family when we went on day hikes. This is the one that I picked out for myself. It has plenty of room for lunch and a sweatshirt, with room left for books. There is also a soft pocket that I use for my sunglasses and my phone. It is very well made, with attention to detail. For example, there is a hand hold near the mouth of the reservoir, so that it is easy to hold onto as you fill it under the tap. Another nice thing is that it is very breathable. My back used to get really sweaty from our old backpack that we dragged around with us. This one is much, much more comfortable.
Speaking of comfort. The only thing that I am not completely satisfied with is the fit when the belts are fastened. I'm 5'2" on the best of days, and I really need to be about 2 or 3 inches taller to have this pack fit perfectly. However, I find that if I don't fasten the harnesses, it fits good enough. So, if you are petite and looking for a perfect fit, you might want to check out the kids sizes.

I am only 5'2" and this bag is just a little too big for my frame. It still fits pretty comfortably but I have the straps as small as they will go. I still love it because it holds all the water my dog and I could want and it keeps it really cold for almost 10 hours with ice, very well insulated. The bag part is also big enough to pack anything I may need for the day. Dont know why it took me so long to get one!

I researched and looked at many packs before buying this one. I wanted one primarily for day hikes. It's perfect! I have room for extra clothes, food, and the size of the water hydration pack is great. I sometimes drink electrolyte fluids and will put the bottles in the side pocket. Lots of great pockets for all sorts of needs. I highly recommend it.
