5Perfect size for my commute.....
By zoology
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2PVZU4SGJUZLQ 3rd time is the charm!! First I ordered the women's Osprey verve 10 s/m, too small in ci and in comfort. Then I tried the Osprey raptor 10 a little bigger with better zipper access but still not right to fit all my gear. The following quick video is just an example of items you can stuff into it, and not what I usually carry but will work for this review. I find the pack quite comfortable without using the hip belt for my commute to work. As for hip belt pocket complaints of items falling out, I found that small "snap" buttons work fine, are secure and don't take up any pocket space to install, will include photo's of those. You can also use Velcro for a quick fix. I really like the pack, it is the perfect size for me, not too big or too tight, the extra pocket in the middle really makes the pack. The mesh compartments in this pocket are bigger and only having 2 works better in relation to large pocket with 1 mesh pocket and two pump pockets. I didn't think my pump (Topeak Turbo Morph Bike Pump with Gauge)13 3/4" would fit as it's kind large but wow, it did, with room left at top! I could fit more gear than I usually take on a daily basis. Where is the bladder you ask??? well didn't want to remove it and risk barreling of pack so I just tucked in the drinking tube so it's there if I need it. I did remove it to use the space as an additional pocket but it did barrel. And actually if you do over pack it it does barrel with an empty bladder, found that out yesterday riding to work! ;) That will teach me to not bring things I don't need!
Got it for $66.00 and worth it. Per an email to Osprey due to conflicting info from site to site on spec's, here's what they said: "Raptor series it is 19" and above would be M/L and below 19" is a S/M. The measurements just show the dimensions and are not directly related to sizing. 854ci is accurate for the M/L and 732ci is accurate for the S/M as it is 2" shorter in height." Hope that clears up any questions as the web sire only shows one overall size of 18 x 10 x 10. Wish I knew would have gotten the s/m instead of the m/l for my shorter torso, but it still works ok. Video is a little short due to poor editing on my part, :) still learning, ha ha, but gave it a shot so you can see how much you can fit into it. So hopefully you don't have to buy/return 3 before getting the size you need. The material is typical of hiking packs with ripstop nylon and the color is great as far as the red, it's wow, red. The front stretchy pocket is ok but not a big fan as I think it will stretch out after time and be baggy looking, but hopefully I'm wrong. The soft pocket on top has a more rigid back as it right up against the frame for bladder. I'm a Gregory pack fan, love their suspension very comfortable to wear for long periods. It's not really too big of a deal on a pack this small, not sure on Airscape system as the pack is right up against my back unlike Gregory which have a space between you & the pack. Will take getting use to I guess as it's not uncomfortable just different.

Bottom Line: Well constructed pack with Great zipper pulls, well thought out organizational pockets, with lots of storage and still small enough to be a comfortable ride, on sale worth every penny! Enjoy! Uploaded more photo's with measurements so take a peak!

5Best cycling pack
By Ian K
I have owned this pack for over 12 months, and it has been a dream to own. As a cyclist who rides their bike for general commuting (I live in the city), and roughly 1.5 hours (round trip) every Mon-Fri to and from work, the bag is the perfect size. It's not the perfect size if you're the type of person who overpacks, but it works well if you don't "need" to bring 2 jackets or something.

COMMUTING TO WORK: I can fit my shirt inside the hydration/bladder pocket (I don't need 3 litres of water to cycle to work!), while my pants, underpants, work socks, belt, and lunchbox can fit into the main compartment. I can carry deodorant, moisturizer, hair wax, and a bike multi-tool/Allen key set and puncture kit in the second compartment. There's a small "soft pocket" that holds my slim wallet, coins, keys, and Samsung Galaxy S II phone. My small, orange Kryptonite U-Lock fits perfectly into the outside pocket at the front of the bag, which is meant to hold wet gear.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:

- I can fit my 11.6" Macbook Air, with its laptop sleeve, into the rear hydration/bladder pocket. It fits perfectly. The Osprey Raptor 14 fits my laptop even better than the laptop compartment of most other backpacks and messenger bags, since those are designed to fit laptops up to 1.5" thick!!

- I use the two side pockets for my bike lights. It's a perfect fit! I can even strap an umbrella to the side.

- I have used this bag for hiking. It's a good size for day-hikes.

- The Deuter Race Air backpack series have a more breathable strap and back system than the Osprey Raptor series, but I found this pack to be more comfortable.

- If I bring my 11" Macbook Air to work, I need to put my shirt into the main compartment, and so I can't fit my lunchbox!! If you need to bring both every day, then get the 18 litre!!

And FWIW, I'm 5'10" tall, 155 lbs/72 kg, and male, so your experience with packing this bag may be different if you're bigger than me.

4Good pack, nice form factor. Tough to dry out.
By stag808
This pack works great for day hikes and the 3L capacity ensures that you have more than enough water for the day. It's nice to have a form factor that isn't bulky and conforms to your back. The storage area can hold a light rain jacket and your lunch, but not much more. It is a bit pricey for a hydration pack and the design of the reservoir makes it extremely difficult to dry out after use. The reservoir is designed to colapse flat and the only way that I can get it to air dry is to stuff it with wadded up paper towels to hold the walls of the reservoir apart.

UPDATE - 2/20/13
The bite valvue started dripping badly where the pivot point is for the valve shutoff. I contacted Osprey's customer service department, described my problem and they immediately shipped out a replacement valvue - FREE! No questions asked about warranties or anything. Now that's customer service. You have to admire a company that stands behind its products. KUDOS TO OSPREY!
