By melissa
I bought this pack for a month long trip through Europe and it was fantastic! Fit so so so much and doesn't even look like I used it! It came with a detachable daypack that I used as a carry-on and as my main day bag. I could not use the backpack as a whole for carry-on on RyanAir or EasyJet, but it fit so much and was still under the 15Kg Limit for checked bags! Also, the compression straps inside and outside of the backpack make is so easy to carry, not to mention the great suspension it has already. I would recommend buying the Airporter LZ by Osprey if planning on flying a lot. It kept my bag safe through many buses and flights. Will never use any other brand except Osprey!

I LOVE this bag! For a start, it's so much lighter than any other 70L pack I've seen, which is important when you're hauling it onto planes, buses and trains. The harness is really comfortable, the straps are easily adjustable and the day pack can be either zipped onto the back or clipped on the front, which is really handy and helps distribute the load when both bags are full. I'm only 5 ft 10 and I found the S/M size a perfect fit, whereas other packs were far too big for me. The fabric of the bag feels quite thin but it's surprisingly durable, I used this bag to backpack through Thailand for 7 weeks and the bag is still practically brand new, nothing ripped or broken. All in all, the Farpoint is a massive improvement over my old heavy, bulky and uncomfortable travel pack!

By D. Miesen
I bought this pack to travel around Costa Rica and Nicaragua with my family of 4 (me, wife, 8 yo, 10 yo). Our trips consist of walking/taxi/bus to our destination to stay at hotel/hostel followed by local adventures including hiking/zip-lining etc. The main compartment is set-up like a suitcase in that the whole front of the pack zips open (very convenient) rather than the usual back-pack that is accessed from the top. On the Tica buses you have to stow your luggage at the bottom of the bus so the ability to unzip the day-pack from the front was great so that we could access essentials during the bus ride. Also, the side of the pack that sits against your back has a zip-up panel that covers that whole face so that the back-pack straps are hidden out of the way when stowing it in the bus storage. In this configuration, the purpose of the extra handles on the top and side becomes evident which makes it function just like a large carry-on type case. The day-pack was also great for carrying water bottles, rain gear, etc for our daily adventures while leaving the rest in the hotel. I'm usually a cheapskate but I sprung for a little extra buying this bag and I think it's worth every penny. Very well thought out design and super high quality components. Had to really stretch to find something to complain about but the only thing I could manage is that the mesh pockets on the front of the pack perfectly accomodate water bottles/umbrellas (a must for traveling central america during the "green" season) but don't have anything to secure them so unless the pack is kept upright those items will fall out. We still use those pockets for that purpose but a little something we have to think about. That small issue, though, is greatly overshadowed by the many advantages of this pack, many of which I haven't mentioned such as how comfortable it is to wear and the list goes on.
